Watching this you understand that our basic banal instinct is to dance, and not just dance..but with great carefree joy!

At the root of all western pop music, and yes even jazz, country, rock..you name it, it all came from the roots of the blues.

From the heart and soul of New Orleans, up and down the Mississippi Delta and Missouri River on steam boats, came

the gut wrenching soul music that we can proudly say, is “Pure Americana” that the rest of western Europe took and

over time created their own timeless treasures, while giving respect and understanding where it’s source came from.

The BLUES BROTHERS were another American Icon that we all have found memories of.  After the death of Belushi in 1982, the Blues Brothers have continued to perform with a rotation of guest singers and other band members. The band reformed in 1988 for a world tour and again in 1998 for a sequel to the film, Blues Brothers 2000. They make regular appearances at musical festivals worldwide.

I have no doubt that the “Blues Brothers” would have loved to dance to: “Road Kill 66” FREE DOWNLOAD The inspiration for this song came from driving up to Flagstaff, AZ for the dropping of the pine cone on New Years Eve ringing in 2017.  On my way up from Las Vegas, I saw some serious road kill along the way.  Not only was it grueling to look at along the famous Route 66, but it gave me a metaphor as well for when a love goes bad, inside we all feel something like that has happened.

“some loves are meant to last, some loves are meant to cross our path” from ROAD KILL 66

I had the notion to go on and on about all the incredible legendary Blues guitarists ( and stories) I’ve had the pleasure to back as a trumpet/flugelhorn player over the years including the great B. B. King, but I’ll leave it hear and hope you enjoy listening to, (while bumping and grinding) to my latest track as much as I had in the joy of creating it.
