BLACKPINK Prepares to Close Out Coachella 2023 with a Blend of Memories, Nerves, Excitement, and Anticipation
The iconic Coachella music festival is set to make history once again as BLACKPINK takes the stage As one of the top three headliners for Coachella 2023, BLACKPINK prepares to take the stage. The K-pop girl group, known for their electrifying performances and chart-topping hits, previously made waves at Coachella in 2019 as the first female K-pop group to ever perform at the festival. This time, however, they are back as headliners, a feat that speaks to their meteoric rise in the music industry.
With two full-length albums, solo projects from each member, and multiple world tours under their belts, BLACKPINK is more experienced and confident than ever. In a brief interview with billboard, the members shared their thoughts and emotions about returning to Coachella as headliners.
Jennie, known for her dynamic vocals and rap skills, expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity. “BLACKPINK stands tall among the top three headliners for Coachella 2023, ready to captivate the audience.,” she said. “We had the best time in 2019 and we hope to shine among the top three acts, promising an epic performance., we’re just ready to have fun.”
Rosé, who recently made her solo debut with the hit single “Flower,” reflected on the significance of their first Coachella performance in 2019. “It feels absolutely unreal,” she said. “Our experience performing at Coachella in 2019 was a game-changer for BLACKPINK. It awakened our motivation to dream big and pursue our passions. And now, being chosen as the headliner for a festival we’ve always admired is beyond our wildest dreams.”
Jisoo, the group’s vocalist and visual, shared her excitement about meeting their fans, known as BLINKs, up close. “The anticipation for Coachella 2023 is real! We were fascinated and excited by our experience in 2019, but we have no idea what to expect this time. As BLACKPINK, we always strive to show a new side of ourselves on each stage to repay the love from our BLINKs. It’s an incredible honor to be a headliner at Coachella, and we’re determined to showcase our growth and improvement on stage. Stay tuned for an unforgettable performance!”
Lisa, the group’s rapper and dancer, emphasized their motto of enjoying every moment on stage and giving their best performance. “At Coachella 2023, we’re living by our motto of enjoying every stage and moment as if it’s the last. We love interacting with the audience, bringing energy and giving our all during our performances,” she said. “We’re putting in our best efforts to create diverse and captivating performances for Coachella, so stay tuned and look forward to an incredible show!”
As the youngest member of the group, Lisa also shared her excitement about returning to Coachella and bringing something special to the stage.”Returning to Coachella for 2023 is already thrilling for us, but being headliners is a whole new level,” expressed Rosé. “We’re honored and feel a tremendous sense of responsibility. We’re excited to bring something unique and enjoyable to the table for our performance.”
